Bluetooth enables a wireless connection between a mobile phone and the MMI system.
Important: Available Bluetooth mobile phones must be shown on the MMI display Link.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to select a mobile phone and press the rotary pushbutton.
To bond the mobile phone, turn the rotary pushbutton to Handsfree and press the rotary pushbutton. A 4-digit PIN number will appear in the MMI display.
To enter the 4-digit PIN shown in the display, select Yes. Enter this PIN number on the mobile phone while the vehicle is stationary. You will be given about 30 seconds to complete the entry, or
To enter any 4 to 16-digit PIN, select No. Enter any 4 to 16-digit PIN code via the speller Link. Then also enter this PIN code on the mobile phone while the vehicle is stationary. You will be given about 30 seconds to complete the entry.
Confirm the bonding process on the mobile phone when prompted to do so. A mobile phone symbol -1- Fig. 1 will appear in the status line of the MMI display when the mobile phone has successfully bonded.
Note
- The car telephone kit is designed for use in GSM networks. The functionality of SIM cards for UMTS networks may be limited in certain circumstances.
- If you use mobile phones in the vehicle this can generate electromagnetic fields. If retrofitting an external aerial, please ensure that it is installed correctly.
